After a long hiatus, I'm about to embark on a series of smaller works and will also pick up the mantle of the Girl Detective Paintings series. Since I last posted an update to this site, I moved my studio out of the Hubbard Street Lofts building where I had been a member of Fulton Street Collective, and into my home. I completed the first in the Girl Detective Paintings series,  a 24"x36" oil painting entitled "Secrets in Old Clocks," of which there will soon be images on this site. Shortly thereafter, I opened a business called Resistor, which was a hybrid gallery, performance space, and teaching facility, and took a break from most creative pursuits. The business moved after less than a year (unfortunately lost the lease on the first space), and then permanently closed in January of 2018 after a few setbacks in funding/city ordinances. The business closing allowed me to once again focus on creative work, and I resettled into the the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. I now have a small home studio in which to work and will be embarking on a series of smaller pieces in graphite, charcoal, and acrylic paint--as well as beginning the next in the Girl Detective Paintings series--once I am more settled into the space, most likely in early spring 2019. Thank you to all of the many people who have supported my creative endeavors via visiting my studio shows, band performances, and while I ran my venue/business, including those who became my students (over 900 in a year and a half!). I look forward to working once again in visual art, and will update this site with new pieces as they are created. Much joy and thanks to you all. May we all continue to find creativity and hope in the world around us.

It's been an awesome first 2 weeks' run with my Girl Detective Paintings campaign through 3Arts! So far, supporters have kicked in 1/3 of the campaign amount, and 3Arts just added the next 1/3 in the form of a grant!! It is an honor to have been selected for this campaign with them and to receive this funding! Thank you all for your support to get this painting series up and running! The campaign has another 29 days and just $745 is needed to reach our goal! Please consider helping me bring the story of Nancy Drew and her creators to life through this campaign and painting series! Read more and watch my video here: http://3arts.org/projects/girl-detective-paintings/

Thanks so much!!

New site up and running!

After a few years of down time from proper internet representation, and while mulling over how to best represent my evolving and growing body of work (which has ranged from video and sound to drawings and paintings), I've finally launched a site! My work has streamlined, and with it my ability to tell the story, in words and pictures, of where I am as an artist. Most of the work will be more recent pieces, but I'll also share some earlier projects that capture the essence of my visual vocabulary. Since completing a stint of grad school at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (Art & Technology Studies program), I've been all over the map, including being in a number of bands as the lead singer. Performance has been integral to my creative process, too. But I'm narrowing the focus, and excited to bring my energy back to oil painting. I'll continue to take on other smaller side projects, as my energies are too active to keep to just one thing…This will be the place to join me on my journey. I'm very excited to be sharing my work, and my process, with all of you!
